At the January 2024 Trustee AGM, the clerk was pleased to report that in 2023 over 1,000 Bibles had been given to 46 applicant churches or schools. This was the first time that figure had been passed since the economic crash of 2008 and the pandemic of 2020, both of which had severely hampered distributions.
Thanks were expressed to Rev Derek Lindfield who has retired from his role and the appointment noted of Mr Neil Mackenzie as URC nominated Trustee.
Donations were mainly to Year 6 school leavers and they were given the NIRV Bible, which had been very well received. Various other Youth Bibles were also given, mainly to church groups where continuity is important. It was reported that existing stocks of the NIRV will be exhausted this year and negotiations are currently taking place for a reprint.
The Trustees look forward to another positive year of applications being successful so that more children and youths can receive Bibles which will accompany them into adulthood.
